Happy 6th Birthday, Grant

Man, time sure does fly. I remember it like yesterday. Bringing Grant home and letting Macy meet him. He was so tiny and needed his Mommy for EVERYTHING. Grant is now in his 2nd year of school. He loves to swim, do gymnastics, play baseball and soccer. Play with his brother and ride his big-wheel. He is getting tall and even eating more! What a relief! I have waited 6 years for this! Grant is so lovable and friendly and he makes friends easily. He even still gives me hugs without me asking for one. I love that boy. I can't wait to see what God has in store for him and his life.

December 20th, 2011, I found out that I was pregnant. I called my Dr and they wanted me to get labs done....so, I did. They were low and I also started taking progesterone by mouth. I was so excited and went about a week and a half with everything ok. On New Years Eve, I started bleeding, but just a little. I called the on call Dr on January 1st in the evening. She wanted me to get labs done the very next morning. January 3rd, the nurse called me and told me that this is 99% a miscarriage due to the lab levels. She told me to take a home pregnancy test in a week and if it was positive, I was to call them back. On Monday, January the 9th, I took a test and it was +!! I then called them and Dr. Nelson wanted to see me. I had more labs done before I went to see her. I didn't get any answers yet, although, she said that 1 of 3 things is happening. 1. I have miscarried and still have some tissue that needs to come out, which will on it's own. 2. This is an topic pregnancy. 3. I was pregnant with twins and have lost 1. Talk about roller coaster on my emotions!!! I go tomorrow morning for more lab and if the HCG has risen higher than 200, which is what it was 2 days ago, then I am to have an US to see what's going on. If the number has lowered, then it is a miscarriage. I will be so glad when tomorrow gets here so that I can finally know what it going on. Monday was the 7 week mark if I am pregnant.

Grant is doing well in school....he is in Pre-K for the 2nd year and I am sure glad that he is. He totally gets everything this year! He had numerous friends, but the ones that he talks about are Luke, Declan and Cameron. It's the four of them and they are so cute! Grant loves to help the teacher and any way that he can. They have this Walk Run program and Grant did a whole marathon and more last year....his teacher told me that this year, he would rather play with his friends. Grant is almost 6 and growing and so smart. Grant can beat us all in the game, Memory. He loves that game and we try to have a game night once a week here at home. The boys really enjoy game night.

Stephen absolutely loves school! He goes in the afternoon at Quail Creek and he has some friends that he talks about all the time. Jordan, Juachin, Luke and Oscar. He is rhyming words really well and even know what a syllable is. We had a 3 1/2 week christmas break and almost daily, Stephen would ask, "Is today a school day?" The students are assigned to different jobs and Stephen likes to be the "line ender" so that he can turn the lights out. He has been writing his name for about a month now....he does well, except for the "S"....it's backwards. I'm sure by the end of the year, he will have that down.

Grant had a birthday this past week. His party was yesterday. Great-pa brought his dump truck and Adam brought an OG&E bucket truck. I made dirt dessert and tire cakes. It was a very fun day and today, he is enjoying opening all his new toys. He got some books, some gift cards and of course......new trucks. Grant is growing up so fast. He is now in children's choir at church and does so well. Grant loves to look at books, play with his brother, wrestle with daddy, play play-dough and play outside when we get the chance. We are looking into starting Pre-K this fall.....I am having a hard time with this, but I think it's a good move and will help Stephen and Mommy have some time together.
Grant has his 4 yr Well Visit this Friday, I am anxious to see how much he weighs and how many inches he has grown. We keep trying on shoes and having to go and put them in Stephen's room.....his feet are growing.

Stephen is officially a talker. He talks all the time. He can say whatever you do and says it well. He now can run at full speed and keep up with his big brother.....well, almost. Grant's really fast. Stephen enjoys watching his brother play soccer. I have to keep Stephen off of the soccer field. Stephen also loves Papa. He loves to get on Papa's big tractor. Stephen like for mommy to drive fast and he holds his hands up while mommy drives.

Grant is 3 yrs and 4 months. He weighed today at the dr's office and his weight is 28 lbs. Grant is a little learner. He is listening to watching everything we do and say. He loves to play with his brother and help daddy outside. Grant loves to go to church and see his friends, his sunday school teachers, (Matt and Brittany) and learn about Jesus.

Our little boy turned 2 today. He is so precious to us and we could not imagine life without our little guy. Life is pretty exciting with 2 boys. We had to replace some friends' toilet this past weekend ($120), due to our boys. Stephen is just growing so fast. We went to the dr today and he weighs 24.6 lbs and is 32 7/8 inches tall. He is in the 10th percentile in weight and 15th percentile in height. He has gained 2 lbs since his 18 month visit. Stephen loves to play with Grant and loves trucks, trains and also, playing outside. Stephen is talking more and more everyday. Putting 2-3 words together and really starting to communicate well. We are looking forward to Stephen's b-day party tomorrow.

Oh my, this kid gives me the run for my money. He is so much fun, but likes to test and tell you no all the time.....no matter what. He is showing interest in the potty, which is good. I think he will be potty trained before Grant was. Stephen is a better talker at this age than Grant was. He loves to play basketball and read books. Stephen also goes to the airport with daddy and loves it. Stephen will be 2 on May 8th.

Wow, time is flying....we have been on a cruise and the day before we left was Grant's 3 year check-up. Grant weighed in at 28 lbs....this is good, he has gained a whole 5 lbs. He is 33 and 3/4 inches tall. He is growing. He is so much fun and loves to play basketball, in the dirt, outside, with Stephen and with daddy. Blake takes the boys to the airport to watch the helicopters and airplanes and they love that. Grant is fully potty-trained now. He does so well. Hardly ever having an accident, only when he is busy playing. We do wear pull-ups at night, with time, this will stop and we can wear underwear at night also. While at the dr, she asked Grant what his favorite color was and he said, "purple." I was just glad that he said a color. He is learning like crazy....everything you say or tell him, he remember's it.

Stephen just loves to wrestle. I find him on top of Grant quite frenquently around here. Grant doesn't seem to mind it either. Stephen is becoming such a big boy. He is talking really well now. Just in the past week or so, he is beginning to answer me by either saying, "No." or "uh-huh." He is just so cute. He is fighting a cold now or he is cutting teeth, not quite sure which. We just love them so much. Blake says that often, last night, I thought he was going to cry.

Yesterday, Stephen was trying to find me and I heard him coming down the hall, saying, "Mom?", "Mom?" Grant came in where I was and said, "You're not Mom, you're Mommy." I explained to him that there a several differant names for Mommies and Daddies. He still didn't agree.

Grant is so big. You can pretty much talk to him and he will talk back to you. It's so fun....well, except when he says, "what's that?" That's pretty much all the time now. He loves school buses, trash trucks, playing with his brother, 18-wheelers, going to church, Kindermusik class and spending time with daddy. They were going fishing a lot, but the weather has cooled and they no longer go. Grant is potty-trained, when it comes to pee, if you know what I mean. Grant loves to read and color and use the glue. He loves the movie, Cars, but only gets to watch it when he poops in the potty. I weighed him at the dr's office today and he was almost 27 lbs! Stephen is close behind him. They play good together except when someone has somebody elses toy.

WOWOWOW. Every post now starts with WOW, because I can't believe how big my kids are. We went to the dr today for Stephen's 18 month check-up. He weighs 22 lbs and 8 oz. He is 31 inches tall. He is in the 10th percentile on both height and weight. He is growing and talking really well. He loves to eat with a fork at meals now. He also loves to watch the trash truck on Friday's. He still loves to pester the poor dog. He and Grant play well together for the most part. Some days, I need a whistle on my neck. I am already done with christmas shopping and Blake and I can't wait till christmas morning.

Going on 3 1/2 weeks worth of potty training. Grant is doing really well. Wakes up almost every night with dry underwear on. We have only pooped in the potty about 3 times. I bought him some snickers when he does and now he can't watch Cars until he poops in the potty. He is growing up and loves to play with his lego's, trucks and any ball. Loves to wrestle with daddy and he and daddy have been going fishing. He has caught 4 fish so far and just loves it. He is barely in 24 months pants and they are really big, because of no diaper anymore. He is wearing underwear and I really need to buy him a belt to keep his pants up. Anything that daddy is doing, Grant wants to do. Mow the grass, water the yard, plant flowers, golf or go fishing.

Wow, Stephen is 17 months, as of yesterday. We are getting excited about pumpkins and cooler weather. He is walking, almost running now. He has to keep up with big brother. He loves to laugh and plays really well with Grant. He loves to torment the dog, poor Macy. He fell last Friday on a lego and he still has the bump on his head to prove. This didn't slow him down a bit. He is always on the go. The only time he slows down is when I put him to bed for a nap or at night. He loves bananas, well, any food, when it comes out, he's running to the kitchen. He also doesn't care when he gets into trouble. He barely cries when you get onto him. Blake finally made him cry last night, just by telling him no. We were both glad, we were wondering if this kid has a conscience. He is fun and has the cutest grin and precious giggle.

Stephen is growing up. He is 16 months old and weighs about 21 lbs. He had his first Ok State Fair visit today. We looked at Camels, Goats, Pigs, Horses and Cows. He had a great time looking at those animals. He has graduated at church to the walkers class. He loves to squeel and scream, whenever and about whatever. He's my little "plunder-gut". That's what my mom calls him, cause he messes in everything. He is very ticklish on his feet, when we put his socks and shoes on, he can't hardly stand it.

Wow, time is flying. Grant will be 3 in January. Yesterday, I decided that we were going to potty-train. He had 2 accidents all day. 1 during nap and the other was right after Stephen woke up and Grant got busy playing. He went about 12 times and got M&M's. He is doing so well. Blake and I are very proud of him. I am doing more laundry, but that's ok. I think if we can stick to it, Grant will get it. He comes up to me while he is playing and tells me that he needs to potty, even during the movie, CARS. His favorite. Kinda hard for us to go and do things, but he's a boy, so we can pee in the dirt.....we tried that, he did not want to.

Grant is doing well. He is 2 1/2 and weighs 26 lbs. He and Stephen love to play outside and throw balls at eachother. We have worked on potty training a little bit. He's not ready, he doesn't even care about the potty that he put stickers all over, so whatever. We'll try again another day.

Welp! We have a walker here. All the time. I think I may have seen him crawl once this week and he was being silly. He has been walking totally for 10 days now. He's so good at it. He thinks he's big like his brother. He had his 15 month check up yesterday. He weighs 20 lbs and 11 oz. He is 29 5/8 inches tall. He is just in the 5 and 10 percentile. He got 2 shots and Grant was real concerned about "Ste-Ste" getting shots. Stephen loves to play with balls and he is really loving Macy, (our dog).

I took him to the dr yesterday. He has hand, foot and mouth's disease. He has been running fever and has spots all over all week. I just knew that it was his teeth, after the rash appeared, I got concerned. Today, he is doing better. No fever and he is eating again. Praise the Lord. We are going to stay home and take it easy for a few days I can already see that the spots are fading. I hope that he gets better soon and I certainly hope that Grant does not get this. By the way, Stephen is cutting his 1 year molars. He has been miserable this week.

Today when daddy came home, Grant and Macy went outside before he was even out of the truck. I go out after them. I told Grant that he needs to ask mommy when he wants to go outside. He looked at me with a cute little grin and said, "ass?". Meaning ask, of course. Man, he is just so cute. It kills me to get onto him, EVER. But I do it. I am his mother and no one else is going to do it. Life goes on and he will do something again tomorrow that will make me grin. :-)

Stephen has been running fever for over 24 hours now. Today, he hardly ate. He is even dry-heaving. It's the most awful thing that I have ever had to deal with. He look at me with such pain in his eyes and I can't do a darn thing about it. He has had 2 purple and blue bumps in his mouth for 5 months....no lie. After nap yesterday, he is blazing ho, sure enough, the 5 letter word....FEVER. Look in his mouth and one tooth has broken through. Thank GOD. This child is miserable and I can't stand it anymore. I hate it when my baby is sick. Please teeth...all of you, come through.

Stephen is growing up. He is walking more and more everyday. He probably walks about 35% of them time now. He still thinks that he is obviously fast at the "mogley" crawl, so, that's what he does about the other 65% of the time. He loves going to the splash park, but his favorite thing to do, it drink the water. It's kinda funny.

The other day we were driving on Hefner and Blake commented on the Jews landscaping, so he said, "THose poor Jews." From the back seat, Grant said, "poor juice".

While at the mall, I was bra shopping and Grant was with me, he goes out to Blake and gets picked up. Grant feels of Blake's pecks and says, "daddy bra too?"

Grant was tired of hearing me tell Blake to get his shoes on and so Grant decided to just go and get them himself. He came to the living room with a black dress shoe and a brown one.

Saturday, Stephen decided that he would take his first steps. He took 2 full steps all on his own. He has continued to do so every day. He is 13 1/2 months and he weighs 20.4 lbs.

3 years ago today, we moved into this house and I was 6 weeks pregnant with our Grant. The time has flown by and we have since added to our family. Grant is getting so big and talking all the time. He is putting 3-4 words together and he's so easy to talk to. He and Stephen just love playing and they laugh together and it's just so sweet. Yes, they do fight on occasion. Grant is sitting next to me right now and we are watching the NBA finals...."ba-tet-ball", he loves it. Grant loves going to the zoo and playing outside.

Stephen is turning into a little boy. He plays patty-cake and loves to play peek-a-boo. He is saying, dada, mama, dog, ball, water and yellow. He is walking behind push toys all over the plays and even walking along the wall in the hallway. He kinda needs a haircut. His curls are oming over his ears and the back is really curly. I do not plan on cutting his hair for a while. Stephen loves his bubble machine that Nana and Papa got him for his birthday. He also loves the bathtub. One more thing.....I find Stephen playing in the toilet. I hear a splash and then I hear him say "wa-wa". I run in there and he has the biggest smile on his face, it's just priceless. Stephen is my little garbage disposal, that kid will eat anything! LOVE IT.

He is feeling better! He got a rash after 3 days of high fever and the rash lasted 2 days. It was 5th disease. We are glad that is over, it's always nice to have your kids back after they have been sick. He also has 2 new teeth. The teeth on each side of his front teeth. He now has 8 teeth. Stephen is walking along furniture and pulling up well. June 8th, he will be 13 months old. We will see if he walks soon. I find him looking at Grant and wanting to do what he does. Maybe he will just get up one day and go for it.

Well, we are going on 4 days of fever. The highest was 104 on Saturday morning. I took him to the minor ER and they told me that it was viral. I have not a clue what's going on with that little guy. I do know that he is miserable and cutting his 1 yr molar's. They are swollen and blue in his mouth. It's terrible. Please say a prayer for him.

Oh man. He is a talker. He talks all the time. He can say about anything that you say. Grant loves to play outside, I think he would live out there. Blake set the tent up in the backyard and he loves to play in that. He plays with Stephen really well. Grant loves to swing and go down big slides at the park. He sleeps with 2 monkeys at bedtime and naptime. Sometimes, they go places with us. I weighed Grant on Friday, he is at 24 lbs and 32 inches. I think that Stephen is going to catch him. We are looking forward to warm weather so that we can go swimming.

Well, Stephen is 1 and I have baby fever. I just can't believe that he is 1. He is such a mama's boy. Grant never was attached to me like Stephen is. Blake thinks he's fussy all the time. He's very sensative. He is cutting teeth right now and has hematoma's in his mouth, yes, you read correctly. He has purple and blue bubbles where teeth are coming in. He wants to be held all the time. He still only has 6 teeth, I know more are coming soon and I really wished they would hurry!!! He is a very active crawler, not really interested in walking yet. He says ball, dog, mama, dada and milk. We went to the dr on Friday and he weighs 19 lbs and is 28 inches long. He and Grant had food poisening last week and Stephen was really sick. He dropped from the 50% to the 5th!! He is doing better now and has really started eating better the last 2 days. He had a great time at his birthday party on Saturday. He got a bubble machine, pj's, clothes, ball sets and money. It was a great day.

We have 6 teeth now and I can feel a few more bumps. Stephen is a major mama's boy. I just love it. Well, most of the time. He is 11 1/2 months old and pulling up on anything and everything. Stephen is a pro at crawling. He is not a bit interested in walking....he just falls to his butt everytime. Stephen and Grant giggle and laugh a lot and play peek-a-boo. They are sooo fun.

Oh my. All this boy does is talk and throw balls. This week, we went out and bought him a Little Tikes Basketball Goal.....LOVES it. That's all he thinks about is "da-det-ball". He is growing up so much, it's crazy. He has now been in his big boy bed for 4 weeks and is doing so well. He races in there every night and gets in it with his two "ee-ee's", that's what he calls his stuffed monkeys. We have to tuck him in with each monkey on each side and give all 3 of them a kiss. lol, he's so funny. One more story, today Blake sneezed in the car and Grant said, "bless you, da-da".

Oh goodness.....where do I begin. We are working on using the potty, he does good, when I really buckle down and do it. He is now in a race car bed, as of 4 days ago. He does so good. He is such a boy, he loves to play outside and goes straight for the dirt, loves to go to the park....I have to make myself drive on a different street where there is no park. If he sees it and we can't stop, he gets upset. He is starting to repeat everything we say....well, the correct amount of syllables. It's close enough and of course, so cute. He prays over his meal every night, he closes his eyes and folds his hands and this is what he says. "dog, ste-ste, dada and mama"....don't have a clue why I am always last, but whatever.

Stephen is growing into a big boy. He is crawling all over, has been for 4 weeks and 1 day. For about a week now, he has been pulling up to his feet, he thinks he's as tall as Grant....well, almost. He waved to my mom and grandma last week when they left here. He says hi, mama, dada.....oh, he looked at Macy after his nap the other day and said, dog. He also waves when we say bye or hi. He's so smart....
He has 5 teeth and I'm waiting for more any day, he's had all the symptoms for a few weeks now.
I'm already thinking about his birthday party....he will be 1 in May. I just can't believe it.

Wow. Time is flying. Stephen had his 9 month check up last week. His ears are staying clear on the Bactrim that he takes every evening. We will continue that thru the end of March. He is doing well and growing. He weighs 18 lbs and 3 oz. Last time we weighed him was one of Grant's appt's and he had clothes on, so he was a little heavier. He is 28 3/4 inches long. His weight is in the 25th % and his height is in the 50th%. He's gonna be a big boy.....well, bigger than his big brother.

Stephen is learning new things every day. I gave him a sippy cup today with some water in it, that kept him busy for a while. He is still army crawling, but I expect "real" crawling any day. He just follows Grant and I all over the place. He is saying mama, dada, gaga and baba. He's just a doll....what can I say??

Well, Stephen is all over the place and even in his mama's plants.....I clean up dirt on a regular basis around here. Stephen's ears have cleared up! Praise the Lord! He is still on medication and will be until March. We weighed today at Big Brother Grant's appt and he weighs 18 lbs and 10 ounces. We even got a new car seat this week, well, Grant did. Stephen got Grant's. He is doing so well, he's sitting up like a pro and even starting to eat big people food. He is all over the place and would much rather be on the floor than in one of his toys. He has even pulled up a few times. AAAHHHH!!!!! We are just now starting to sleep over night, too. With his ears since 5 months old, he and I have made a habit of getting up. This morning, he slept until 7!! That is a +. We are very excited about that.

Wow! Grant turned 2 this past Sunday. We had him a birthday party on Saturday in the church gym. About 50 friends and family came. It was a great time. He enjoyed playing and opening presents. We went to the dr today for his well visit. He is doing well. He has an ear infection and a cough. Other than that, he is a normal 2 year old. He weighs 23 lbs and he is 32 inches tall. He is still hanging on to the bottom of the growth chart. He is starting to put 2 words together and talk. He is so much fun, we have even started using the potty! We got an omniplex pass a few weeks ago and we have been 3 times. He LOVES it!

Stephen is growing up so fast. He weighs 18 lbs and 3 ounces. We are currently taking our 5th antibiotic for ear infections and we are probably going to have to put tubes in his ears. He does not sleep during the night, he gets up every 3-4 hours and this is getting very tiring. He and Grant are now in size 4 of diapers. ( I knew this would happen) Stephen likes to spit and blow bubbles.....(I call it his conversation) He is rolling all over the place. He is starting to get up on all 4's and rock back and forth. We go back to the dr the 4th of January to see about his ears, AGAIN.....we have been there so many times. Stephen loves to watch and talk to his big brother. He enjoyed christmas, he really enjoyed the paper of every package instead of the item inside the package. He will be 8 months old on January 8th..time is flying and before we know it, we will be planning his 1 yr birthday party!

What a busy little boy!! Grant's new word is, "No." He says it to his brother, the dog, me and daddy. He is really learning a lot, every day! He is so much fun. We are starting to talk to him about the potty....we got him several books about this for christmas. He also has picked up a new habit from Stephen, this would be spitting!! We had to stop that one fast. He loves to read books, play with his new airplane and dump truck that he got for christmas, play and tease the dog, talk to Stephen and make him laugh. Grant better start gaining some weight, because Stephen is now wearing the same size diapers!
Grant now weighs around 23 lbs and he goes in on January 23rd for his 2 yr appointment.

Grant, Grant, Grant. There's so much to say about this little guy. He loves to go places and loves to play outside. Stephen has to be with us or very close by or he gets upset. Grant's ear infection has cleared and he is doing well. Grant weighs about 23 1/2 lbs. He's not much of an eater, but if you put ketchup on his food, he will eat it. So, he gets ketchup a lot. Grant is learning to communicate better every day. He knows some sign language. He's got "more" down. We are working on thank you and please.

Stephen is 6 months old! Wow, how time flies. He is getting so big and laughs at Grant every chance that he gets. He weighs 17 lbs and 3 ounces and he is 26 and 5/8 inches tall. He still has the same ear infection, it never cleared and so he is on more medication. He is also rolling all over the place and he is really wanted to sit up and talk to us. He is such a joy and we can't wait till we can get to know him better.

We can't wait till this evening. Grant is going to be a chicken and Stephen.....well, just not sure yet. It's a toss-up between an OSU fan, a farmer or just wear a pumpkin sleeper. We are gonna go to our church for a little bit and then Blake wants to take Grant to his first, few houses. This should be fun.

Oh man. Grant is soooo much fun. He is a busy little guy. He loves playing with cars and balls. You better watch out, cause he likes to throw just about anything. He loves his little brother. When we go somewhere, which is about every day, he does not like for me to leave Stephen in the house by himself....when I load the car up. He gets really whiney and he thinks that I am going to leave Stephen at home by himself. He is also talking a lot more, here are some of the words that he is saying, "gone-gone", "bye-bye", "dog", "Stephen", "choo-choo". He has a little mower and he acts like he's mowing just like his daddy. Grant is also getting over an ear infection, this is his 2nd one. He weighs 22.2 lbs. We don't go back to the dr until January, for his 2 year check-up.

Oh my, I just can't keep up! Sunday evening, I was feeling around in Stephen's mouth and I found a freakin' tooth!! He has a tooth already. I told Blake and he said, "Oh yeah, I felt that yesterday." Well, good grief. Anyway, he is doing well, he's a little uncomfortable at times, but I think after time, he will get better. He is also recovering from his first ear infection. The infection is in his right. He also weighs 14 lbs and 6 ounces. We have an appt the second week of November for his 6 month check up.

Wow!
Last Friday, October 19, Stephen rolled over! He is 5 1/2 months old and is growing, growing and growing. He was on the floor on his blanket and rolled right over. It will be interesting to see when he starts scooting, looks like he could do that any day.

Stephen is a growing boy. He has me a little bit worried. He is definately going to be bigger than his big brother. He is just a little butter ball. He is playing with his feet and talking and cooing and really interested in the world around him. He likes to follow Grant and Macy around the room with his eyes and he really wants to know what they are doing. Grant likes to make him smile and Stephen loves to stare at his big brother. Stephen really pays attention to his mama to see where she is headed. Stephen's next dr's appt is in a few weeks. He is now eating cereal and green beans.

Wow! Grant is growing and saying new words everyday. He is almost 21 months old and he is such a joy. He makes me laugh everyday. He loves playing with Macy and plays keep-away with her toys. He also loves to play with Stephen.....sometimes roughly! He loves picking things up off of the floor and bringing them to me and saying, "ewhh". It can be the smallest peice of grass or dirt.....lol, he's so funny. He loves to play outside, so we go to the park a lot.
